About Me!

My husband and I at Camp Lejeune, NC.

My name is Sam, creator of yet another military spouse blog. But this one is different! I am a Navy Corpsman wife! If you don’t know what a corpsman is, due to lack of military verbage or plain old ignorance, it’s the Navy’s version of a nurse. My husband specifically works with marines. He is in the Security Forces. A pretty bad ass job. And if I were to wear my husband’s military career, that would make me bad ass.

My husband Joe and I have been married for 3 years. We have two boys ages 5 and 2. For those of you doing the math, yes, we had the oldest out of wedlock. Ooops. I like to think of it as us doing things slightly out of order. We also have 2 extremely out of control dogs, named Midnight and Shadow. You guessed it, they are both black dogs. Original aren’t we? So on top of taking care of 2 kids, 2 insane canines, and a male nurse in the military, I also go to school full time to be a teacher. I used to work in banking for the past 7 years, so done with that.

Our current duty station is Camp Allen MCB in Norfolk, VA. This is our second one in 2 years. Before this we were at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.

I don’t know what compelled me to start this blog. Maybe it’s that I have a lot to say about everything, but I spend all day with two children who have NO idea what I am saying. Or that I am essentially a single parent, so my thoughts build up and I need an outlet of some sort. Who knows. I hope I can make some of you smile, brighten up a day, educate on a way too misunderstood lifestyle (military family, if you didn’t catch that), or just give you something to read while you drink your morning coffee.

Thank you! Yes, the military life sure isn’t for everyone, but my husband loves it (most of the time) and I love him so we make it work! Again, thank you for the gracious comment.

I live in a military town, too. Small town outside of Hinesville, GA, home of the 3rd ID (Army). Not a military wife myself but I know plenty and it’s a tough life.
I’m sure this blog will be a good place to vent. You’re off to an excellent start! Look forward to reading more!
